JobYet ("we", "our", or "the App") is a job application tracking app designed to help users save, organize, review, and manage job opportunities, application progress, and interview information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information JobYet collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Information We Collect
JobYet is designed as a local-first app. Most information you enter into the App is stored locally on your device. Some features, including Smart Scan and subscriptions, require limited data to be sent to our backend or third-party service providers as described below.
Information stored on your device
You may choose to save information such as:
- Job title
- Company name
- Job location
- Salary information
- Work type
- Source platform
- Job URL
- Job description summary
- Job requirements
- Recruiter or contact information
- Notes
- Application status, archive status, and job search statistics shown in the App
- Interview rounds, dates, times, interviewers, links, locations, reminders, and notes
- Raw OCR text generated from job-posting screenshots
This information is stored locally on your device and is not stored in a JobYet user account or cloud database operated by us.
Photo Library and Screenshot Processing
JobYet may request access to your Photo Library so you can select job-posting screenshots for import.
Photo Library access is used only for selecting screenshots that you choose. JobYet does not access your entire photo library automatically.
When you select screenshots, OCR text recognition is performed locally on your device using Apple's on-device technologies. The screenshot images themselves are not uploaded by JobYet for OCR processing.
Smart Scan
JobYet includes a feature called Smart Scan, which helps extract structured job information from OCR text.
When you use Smart Scan:
- The screenshot image is not sent to our extraction service.
- Only the OCR text recognized from selected screenshots is sent to our backend extraction service.
- The backend service processes the OCR text to return editable job information, such as job title, company, location, salary, work type, summary, requirements, and related fields.
- Smart Scan results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misread, so you should review and edit the information before saving.
Our backend extraction service is operated through Cloudflare Workers and may use a third-party AI service provider, currently DeepSeek, to process OCR text and generate structured job information.
We do not upload screenshots for Smart Scan and we do not store your saved job database in a JobYet account. However, Smart Scan is not a purely local feature. To provide the feature, prevent abuse, enforce plan limits, and improve reliability, our backend may process and retain limited service data as described in this policy.
Smart Scan service data
When you use Smart Scan or check Smart Scan access, JobYet may send or generate service data such as:
- OCR text recognized from the screenshots you selected
- Your selected app language
- A persistent anonymous app user ID generated by JobYet
- A request ID used to avoid duplicate processing
- App version information
- Smart Scan plan, quota, usage count, and subscription period information
- StoreKit transaction identifiers when needed to verify subscription access
- IP address information used by Cloudflare and by our backend for rate limiting and abuse prevention
The backend may keep quota records, request records, subscription verification metadata, rate-limit records, webhook records, and short-term structured extraction results. Structured extraction results may be retained briefly to support retries, replay protection, debugging, abuse prevention, service reliability, and legal compliance. The current backend retention setting for these structured extraction results is 3 days, and the service is designed not to keep them for more than 30 days under that retention setting. Screenshots themselves are not uploaded by JobYet for Smart Scan.
Notifications and Live Activities
JobYet may request notification permission to send interview reminders.
If you enable interview reminders, the App may use the date, time, company name, interview round, and other interview information you entered to schedule local notifications on your device.
JobYet may also use iOS Live Activities to show an interview countdown on supported devices. Notifications and Live Activities may appear on the Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, or other system surfaces and may display job or interview information such as company name, interview round, time, link, or location depending on what you entered and enabled.
Purchases and Subscriptions
JobYet may offer paid subscription plans through Apple's in-app purchase system.
Purchases, subscription status, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment information are handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.
The App uses StoreKit and may use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements, restore purchases, sync purchase status, and enforce Smart Scan quota. JobYet may create a persistent anonymous app user ID and may pass an Apple app account token or transaction identifier to Apple, RevenueCat, or our backend for subscription verification. Our backend may use Apple's App Store Server API as a backup verification path when RevenueCat is delayed or unavailable.
How We Use Information
We use information you provide or generate in the App to:
- Save and display your job applications
- Organize your job search progress
- Help extract job information through Smart Scan
- Provide interview reminders and countdowns
- Show job search insights and statistics
- Enable, restore, and verify subscription-related features
- Enforce Smart Scan plan limits and prevent abuse
- Improve app functionality, reliability, and security
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising.
Third-Party Services
JobYet may rely on the following third-party services:
Apple
Apple may process information related to App Store downloads, in-app purchases, subscriptions, StoreKit transaction verification, device permissions, notifications, Live Activities, and system services.
Cloudflare
JobYet's Smart Scan backend is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. OCR text and service data sent for Smart Scan may pass through Cloudflare infrastructure. We may use Cloudflare D1, request logs, and related Cloudflare services to operate the backend, enforce quota, limit abuse, debug failures, and improve reliability.
RevenueCat
JobYet may use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, sync purchases, restore access, receive subscription webhooks, and make subscription status available to the Smart Scan backend. RevenueCat may process identifiers, entitlement information, product identifiers, purchase status, renewal dates, and related subscription metadata.
DeepSeek
JobYet's backend may send OCR text to DeepSeek's API to generate structured job information for Smart Scan. Do not include highly sensitive personal information in screenshots or notes unless you are comfortable with that information being processed for the Smart Scan feature.
These third-party services may process data according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Data Storage and Retention
Most job application data is stored locally on your device.
You may delete saved jobs inside the App. You may also remove locally stored App data by deleting the App from your device. Deleting saved jobs removes local job records and related local reminders or Live Activities, but it does not automatically delete backend quota records, subscription verification records, rate-limit records, Cloudflare logs, RevenueCat records, Apple purchase records, or the anonymous app user ID stored in your device Keychain.
For Smart Scan, OCR text may be transmitted temporarily to our backend service and third-party AI provider for processing. We do not upload screenshots for Smart Scan. The backend may keep limited service data, including structured extraction results, quota records, request records, subscription verification records, rate-limit records, webhook records, and logs for security, debugging, replay protection, legal compliance, and service reliability. Short-term structured extraction results are currently retained for 3 days and are designed not to be retained for more than 30 days under the backend retention setting. Other service records may be retained for as long as needed to operate subscriptions, enforce quotas, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, comply with law, and maintain service integrity.
Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, and DeepSeek may retain data according to their own privacy policies, terms, and operational requirements.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by JobYet.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. Job screenshots, notes, interview links, recruiter contacts, salary information, or employment-status details can be sensitive. You should avoid adding highly sensitive information to job notes or screenshots unless necessary.
Your Choices
You can:
- Use JobYet manually without Smart Scan.
- Decline Photo Library access, although screenshot import may not work.
- Decline notification permission, although interview reminders may not work.
- Review and edit Smart Scan results before saving.
- Delete saved jobs in the App.
- Delete the App to remove locally stored data from your device.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
- Contact us to request help with backend data associated with your anonymous app user ID.
Children’s Privacy
JobYet is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International Users
JobYet may be available in multiple regions. By using Smart Scan, you understand that OCR text and service data may be processed through servers or third-party service providers that may be located outside your country or region.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the Effective Date above.
Your continued use of JobYet after any update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
